Denia

Located in the north of the province of Alicante and near the border with the province of Valencia, Denia is the capital of the Marina Alta district. Its geographical location near the cape: Cabo de San Antonio and in front of the Balearic Islands has transformed Denia into a privileged city where the sea plays an essential role.

What about the cuisine? Here you’ll find a clear example of the variety and refinement of the Mediterranean diet – the best the sea can offer and the wines of the Valencian orchards. There is the famous Denia red prawn, the rice dish known as arroz a banda, specialities such as the espencat (grilled vegetables), the suquet de peix (fish, sea urchins, dry octopus, amongst others). You will be able to enjoy all these delicious dishes and more in more than 300 restaurants in the city.

Another fabulous option is to visit the castle ,a beautiful and peaceful place with scenic views of the sea and Denia. The Municipal Market at Magallanes Street and the Fish Market at the Port  invite you to buy fresh and first-rate products . In Denia you can do different sports : cycling, swimming, diving, surfing, hiking, tennis, golf, and sailing.

Furthermore, there are interesting walking routes along it’s coves, walking excursions to Mount Montgó Natural Park, a car drive to the Cape of Sant Antoni or excursions which you can carry out in a sailing boat.
